The reindeer come here for pasture during the summer, and the area is one of the most important mating areas for mountain foxes in Sweden.

Borgafjäll ('Båargese', 'Båargan tjahken' or 'Buarkantjahke' in southern Sami) is a mountain village in the western part of Risbäck's District in Dorotea Municipality in South Lapland. The village is located at the end of Konstvägen sju älvar ('The 'Seven Rivers' Art Road'). Borgafjäll is renowned for its great ski slopes, wonderful mountain vistas and the hotel. The village is also a centre for the Sami reindeer herders in the area. The village, mountains and the surroundings are sometimes collequially referred to as Borgabygden ('The Borga Clime').
